Manila, Philippines - Malacañang slammed opposition Senator Francis Pangilinan for being “infinitely reckless” for implying that the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte had a hand in alleged “daily killings” - according to critics.

Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo on Monday reiterated that the administration has nothing to do with the killing incidents after the senator said the murder of Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Rodel Batocabe could be an outcome of “for every kill, reward money was given by government ”order.

“The remarks of Senator Francis Pangilinan not only are intellectually challenged but infinitely reckless as well,” Panelo said

“Using the death of Ako Bicol Rep. Rodel Batocabe for such purpose however is a blatant disrespect to his memory,” he added.

The presidential spokesperson added that it was “grossly irresponsible” of Pangilinan to link Batocabe’s death to the campaign of the government to fight illegal drugs.

Batocabe, a mayoral candidate, was shot dead on December 22 in Daraga, Albay.

He was gunned down after leading a gift-giving event for senior citizens and persons with disabilities.
