Manila, Philippines - No Christmas holiday in fighting illegal drugs as the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) netted P42.1 million worth of shabu in Christmas Day drug raid operations they conducted.

Three drug personalities were also reportedly arrested in separate raid operations.

P40.8 million worth of shabu in several large packs were heaved from suspect Reji Abesia, 24, inside his rented house in Sitio Cogon, Barangay Pardo.

The operation was led by Chief Inspector Henrix Bancoleta, chief of San Nicolas Police.

Bancoleta said that Abesia was actually a resident of Concepcion St., Barangay Pasil, Cebu City but rented a house in Barangay Pardo to escape detection since he was not known in the area.

“What he did not know was that we had been monitoring him for some time now), ” Bancoleta said in Cebuano.

When the operatives learned about the rented house, Bancoleta said they just waited for the right time before conducting their operation.

Meanwhile, in an interview with Cebu Daily News, Abesia insisted that he was just a courier for a person named “Lebron” whom he had not met in person and only communicated by phone.

He claimed that he was only receiving a weekly salary of 2,500 from his “boss” and had so far sold about 50 kilos of shabu.

The police later on arrested two more rug personalities from whom they seized two packs of shabu valued at P1.3 million.

Arrested were Michael Ceniza, 39, and his live-in partner Remelyn Fernandez, 33, both residents of Pasil.
