Manila, Philippines - Former First Gentleman Jose Miguel “Mike” Arroyo has mocked the opposition Liberal Party for not using its trademark color “yellow” during the filing of their respective certificate of candidacies (CoC).

According to an article published by Politics website, Arroyo taunted the candidates of the Liberal Party for not wearing yellow shirts unlike the previous 2010, 2013, and 2016 elections.

“How come the LPs did not wear yellow shirts when filing their respective candidacies?” Arroyo allegedly said

He added that the current members of the opposition party seemed afraid of being tagged as “dilawan” so they decided to drop their trademark color.

“Are they ashamed of their Color? Takot sa Taongbayan (ang) mga dilaw!” Arroyo stressed

Mar Roxas, on his filing of COC on Wednesday, revived his trademark blue polo shirt. While Aksyon Demokratiko senatorial bet and former Solicitor General Florin Hilbay also wore blue shirt.

Re-electionist Sen. Bam Aquino, on the other hand, wore black during his filing of candidacy though not afraid to show the famous “Laban” sign.

Meanwhile, former Deputy Speaker Erin Tañada and another senatorial bet, De La Salle University College of Law dean Chel Diokno were wearing green.
