Leni's camp accuses BBM of lying to Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET)

On Monday, the camp of Vice President Leni Robredo accused former senator Ferdinand “Bong Bong” Marcos of “deceiving and lying” to the Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET).

Marcos was also Robredo’s opponent from last election as Vice President.

According to Robredo’s side, Marcos submitted a list of witnesses during election from the provinces of Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao and Basilan, that are allegedly “not registered voters.”

Lawyers Romulo Macalintal and Maria Bernadette Sardillo, Robredo’s lawyers informed the High Tribunal that Marcos gave witnesses list who are not registered voters of the precinct as stated in the list.

According to Macalintal, due to Marcos’ attempt to convince PET to conduct a technical examination of the documents during election in the far provinces of  Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao and Basilan, “he has practically resorted to misleading if not totally deceptive representation.”

Robredo’s camp said that Marcos did not comply to the agreed rules to name three witnesses per cluster and precinct and have it submitted to PET.

“after being given another chance by the PET to comply, Marcos submitted the names of 8,000 alleged registered voters.” Says Robredo allies.
