Manila, Philippines - On Tuesday, President Rodrigo Duterte said that female soldiers who fought in Marawi city are now in Hong Kong for their well-deserved vacation.

After ending the fight in Marawi, President Duterte promised the soldiers for a vacation.

"Nandoon na sila. Nauna pa sa amin,” Mr. Duterte said during a press conference in Davao City after his two-day visit in Japan.

“Ano ka man. Nauna pa sa amin… Nag-asawa na nga ang iba pagbalik eh,” he said.

According to the president, Cebu Pacific Airlines took care of soldiers’ airfare to Hong Kong.

"Somebody, but sabihin ko na lang, and it should really be made public," he said. "It was Cebu Pacific who answered for… Nung nalaman niya na… na sabi ko, sabi niya, 'Sige, ako na lang ang --- iyo na lang ang baon pati hotel.'" The president added.

The government declared an end to Marawi city crises on October 23, exactly the 5th month since fight erupted and the president declared martial law in the city.

The fight between the government troops and the Islamic State (ISIS) linked group took a heavy toll, made the buildings and houses into ruins, and killed 920 Maute members, 165 soldiers, and 47 civilians according to the latest data.

On October 17, the city has been declared liberated after the terrorists’ group leaders Isnilon Hapilon and Omar Maute were killed.

Meanwhile, some displaced families started returning to their homes, while 6,500 are also scheduled to return by batch.

The government forces are also in full focus to work on rebuilding the war-torn city of Marawi.
