Manila, Philippines - On Saturday, Senator Leila De Lima called President Rodrigo Duterte a coward as he was not facing the allegations against him.

The supporters of the detained senator held a protest they called “Pirma hindi Porma” at the University of the Philippines.

In her letter read during the said protest, De lima said that President Duterte is tough-talking towards his enemies or critics, but silent when it comes to the issues thrown at him.

"Duwag. D-U-W-A-G = Digong. Duwag na pirmahan ang waiver para maisapubliko ang kanyang bank accounts, at malaman ang totoo," her letter also reads.

The letter from De Lima was read by a former chairperson of the Civil Service Commission of the Philippines under former President Gloria Arroyo’s administration, Karina Constantino David.

The protest yesterday was led by Tindig-Pilipinas, calling for the president to sign the waiver on the secrecy of his bank accounts, if he is not really hiding anything.

De lima, one of the president’s sternest critics accused Mr. Duterte of going after the leaders of the independent institutions like Supreme Court, the Office of the Ombudsman, and the Commission on Human Rights - who were mostly the her allies.
