Manila, Philippines - On Wednesday, President Rodrigo Duterte exposed that Senator Antonio Trillanes has a mistress at the Anti-Money Laundering Council, who gave his supposed bank records to the senator.

According to the president, the person with last name of Abad is the alleged mistress of Trillanes.

“AMLC records were given to Trillanes by a certain Abad who is his mistress,” President Duterte said in a palace briefing.

When pressed if the said Abad was the former AMLC executive director Julia Baccay-Abad who resigned on January 2017, he replied “Yung babae na nasa AMLC.”

While in a statement, Trillanes denied the president’s allegation of having a mistress in AMLC.
“I categorically deny itong huling imbentong storya ni Duterte. Nakakalungkot lang na meron pang nadadamay na ibang tao,” Trillanes said.

[I categorically deny this latest made-up story of Duterte. It’s sad that someone is being dragged into this issue.]

“In this case, si Atty. Julia Bacay-Abad na kilala bilang isang disente at pamilyadong tao na naging propesyunal sa kanyang paglingkod bilang executive director ng AMLC.” He added.

“Mr. Duterte, wag mong daanin sa kabastusan ang pag-iwas mo sa tunay na isyu ng bilyun-bilyong pera mo sa bangko,” Trillanes said noting that the president should not veer away from the real issue.
[Mr. Duterte, don’t resort to rudeness in your attempt to avoid the real issue on your billions of money in the bank.]

Trillanes is one of the well-known critics of the president, who accused the latter of having billions of unexplained wealth hidden in the bank.
