Manila, Philippines - The Bureau of Customs (BOC) chief Nicanor Faeldon has been tagged as one of the officials allegedly accepting bribes inside Customs after the incident of P1.4-B shabu shipment from China.

As the Senate hearing concerning the case of BOC continues, other senators like Panfilo Lacson and Antonio Trillanes are openly asking Faeldon to resign from his post.

Meanwhile, despite the allegations that the BOC chief is one of the corrupt officials, President Rodrigo Duterte stands by Faeldon’s side.

“I stand by him. Really honest,” the president said in a speech on Wednesday during the celebration of the 19th founding anniversary of the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) in Malacañang palace.

Mr. Duterte also believes that Faeldon was “outplayed” by corrupt officials inside BOC.

“Nalusutan siya” The president said and added that “almost all” officials in Customs are corrupt.
