Manila, Philippines - On Tuesday, Senator Manny Pacquiao slammed the policemen who abuse power during drug raids, he reminded them that President Rodrigo Duterte never ordered them to violate the law.

“I fully support President Duterte’s war on drugs but I don’t support the senseless killings ng mga abusadong pulis na umaabuso sa kanilang kapangyarihan” he said.

Pacquiao expressed his support for the resolution of the Senate filed by the majority bloc to condemn the killing of Kian Delos Santos and seek probe on deaths of drug war.

Meanwhile, Senator Pacquiao reiterated that president Duterte did not instruct the police to take the law in their own hands or to “violate the law”.

Pacquiao also said the president’s word to jail the cops should they be proven guilty of murdering the victim.

“Even President Duterte said, if police murdered Kian delos Santos, siya mismo ang maghahatid sa kulungan o magpapakulong at ‘yan ang malinaw na paninindigan ng Pangulo na nililinaw lang niya na ini-instruct-an niya ang police na gawin ang kanilang trabaho pero hindi naman in-instruct ng Pangulo na labagin nila ‘yung batas at i-violate nila ‘yung batas natin,” he said.

The said resolution was signed by Senate President Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III, Majority Leader Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, and Senators Joel Villanueva, Ralph Recto, Sonny Angara, Joseph Victor Ejercito, Sherwin Gatchalian, Richard Gordon, Gregorio Honasan II, Panfilo Lacson, Loren Legarda, Grace Poe, Cynthia Villar, and Juan Miguel Zubiri.

Aside from Pacquiao who pledged support, Senators Nancy Binay and Francisco “Chiz” Escudero also agreed to conduct the probe in order to give light to Delos Santos’ death.

Meanwhile, the three policemen who allegedly killed the teenager have been relieved from the post immediately and will be subject to investigation.
