Manila, Philippines - Joining other companies that pledged assistance to Marawi troops is Coca-Cola. The said company will provide a steady supply of drinks to soldiers dispatched in the battlefield fighting the Maute rebel group.

On August 4, Coca-Cola Philippines, its bottling partner Coca-Cola FEMSA Philippines, and Coca-Cola Philippines Foundation commit to the Armed Forces of the Philippines by providing beverage supplies to the soldiers especially to Marawi troops that would “contribute to their well-being during the time of service”.

Coco-Cola will provide daily steady supplies of sports drink brand like Powerade, Coca-Cola and bottled water Wilkins Pure.

Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific and AirAsia have already guaranteed additional baggage allowance for Marawi troops whenever they need to travel individually or in small groups.

Meanwhile, Phoenix Petroleum committed to set up a P100-million fund for livelihood and education assistance for soldiers and their families.

According to Major General Benjamin Madrigal Jr., Division Commander of the 4th Infantry Division in Northern Mindanao, the support from these companies boosts the morale of the soldiers.

Every day, soldiers showed courage, gallantry and true heroism by risking their lives countless times in the name of duty and our country, and with these, they deserved every support we could give.
