Again, Senator Antonio Trillanes IV criticized President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday during the celebration of Philippines 119th celebration of Independence Day.  He slammed Duterte for not waking up early for such an event, calling him tactless.

Trillanes delivered the said statement in an interview at the sidelines of the “Defend the Democracy Summit” that was held at the school of Economics, at University of the Philippines Diliman on Independence Day.

“Dito mo makikita na wala siyang pakialam, wala siyang halagang binibigay dito sa very important event sa kasaysayan ng ating bansa. Ano ba naman ‘yung bumangon ka ng maaga?” Trillanes said.

“Walang kadisi-disiplina sa katawan itong mama na to e. I’m very very frustrated and disappointed na siya ‘yung presidente natin,” he added.

In absence of the president, Vice President Leni Robredo led the ceremony at Luneta Park.

Meanwhile, Foreign Affairs Secretary Allan Peter Cayetano explained that the president was not feeling well that morning of June 12 because the latter has been up late visiting the wounded and slain soldiers in Marawi siege.
